The Walking Dead is a television series about a post apocalyptic world, based on the ongoing comic book, The Walking Dead, by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The comic book was first issued in 2003, which was picked up by AMC and released October, 2010. After the first season their ratings went through the roof, having the highest rated cable series premiere in 2010, and having the largest audience for an original series on AMC.
The story begins with a police officer named Rick Grimes, who has just awakened from a coma, to find the world overrun by zombies or walkers as they call them. It continues to follow Rick as he searches for family and a peaceful exsistance worth living for. As easy as that sounds Rick is faced with many challenges not only with the relentless and infectious walkers, but its not just the dead that Rick has to worry about, the living can be just as deadly.
If you like shows that keep you on the edge of your seat and keeps you guessing, than this is a show for you!!! If you have a weak stomach though I wouldnt recommend this to anyone, because it has some pretty gory sceens. I have been sucked in since the first season, and would rate this one of television best series. seasons 1 and 2 are out on dvd and season 3 continues on AMC October 14, 2012.
I enjoyed reading your blog about The Walking Dead very much! Although I do enjoy shows that keep me on the edge of my seat, I have always been freaked out by zombies! Im not sure why, but they have always just gotten to me :p. This does look like a very interesting and cool show to watch though!
ReplyDeleteAs much as i would love to watch this show, i could never i do not like gory shows and i have really bad nightmares about zombies...i cant even watch zombieland for petesake! This does sound like a great show, my boyfriend is hooked on it.
